This route takes you on a loop through some lovely southern Colombian scenery on a mostly paved b-road that descends down to the River Magdalena past the iconic Estrecho (a 2m wide gully with the entire River Magdalena thundering through it, less than a metre below the edge), up to the picturesque town of Obando and it’s ancient statues, back down to the River Mazamorras through sugar cane plantations, up to the market town of Isnos, back down to the River Magdalena through coffee plantations, and then up to San Agustín once again along the edge of the River Magdalena canyon. The views all along this rollercoaster route are varied and amazing, and there are loads of places to stop for refreshments.
