About
I’m a South African/British cyclist with a passion for exploring, and sharing experiences that encourage people to ride more, especially off the beaten track. I came to live in Bogotá in 1997, and have been exploring Colombia ever since.
My journeyincludes being a cycling ambassador for ProColombia, hosting a podcast series in English and Spanish called Stories from the Heart of Colombia, where I travelled to every Colombian department to meet and walk with interesting local characters, and publishing an adventure cycling article in Revista Deriva.
I love ultra-cycling and occasional long-distance racing. In 2023, I finished fifth at Bikingman Brazil (1,000km, +18,000m), in 2024 I completed 3,300 km (+34,000m) of the Transcontinental Race, before scratching after a crash, and in 2026 I finished the Silk Road Mountain Race in Kyrgyzstan in 13.5 days (2,050km, +38,000m).
