About

I’m a South African/British cyclist, living in Bogotá since 1997, and riding bikes for as long as I can remember.

I have a passion for exploring, and sharing experiences that encourage people to ride more, especially off the beaten track. I was a cycling ambassador for ProColombia and had an adventure cycling article published in Revista Deriva.

My passion is ultra-cycling, with occasional racing. In 2023, I finished fifth on Bikingman Brazil (1,000km, +18,000m), and in 2024 I completed 3,300 km of the Transcontinental Race, before scratching after I cracked a rib in a nasty crash. I’m currently training for the Silk Road Mountain Race 2026 in Kyrgyzstan.

When I’m not cycling I work as a copywriter, translator and podcaster.

I decided to write this site in English so it can reach as wide as possible an audience of adventure cyclists looking for information on cycling in Colombia, that can be hard to find elsewhere. Feel free to download and use any of the routes as you wish, and if you need advice on planning your trip, get in touch. I can help with route consultation, itinerary planning, logistics support, and connections to local services.
